Postby Mrd8ker » Wed Apr 05, 2017 6:20 pm

Anyone painted a car with Rustoleum besides this guy? https://youtu.be/LXbIJ4M37lw

Going to attempt it on The ABG Team rig!

I have done Krylon in the past. Came out ok. The amount of prep you do makes a HUGE difference.

Make sure you use a good clear coat afterwards. I painted a truck and used good clear on the front and ran out so used cheaper clear on the back. The gray turned blue after being in the sun for a while! ( Only on the shitty half)

I've done about half of a car in it, turned out OK, but I think in retrospect I'd consider trying to spray it instead of rolling it on. Definately nicer than doing a spray can job, especially on something large, like a suburban.

I rolled on mine because I thought it would be funny (and cheaper) which it was. Almost turned out too good initially- I have done a ton of shaker can jobs that turned out pretty nice. Prep work is 95% of the finish along with a decent clearcoat.

My BMW is faded and I still have a big jug of paint and mineral spirits but I dont want to paint over the weird Gambler stencils and lose my ULTRA RARE stickers. lol
